Hanoi to host Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day

(VOVworld) – The Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board said Wednesday that Hanoi’s Old Quarters will celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day November 23rd with a 10-day event to honoring Vietnam’s cultural identity and traditions.

From Friday, there will be an áo dài (traditional long dress) fashion show and performances to introduce Vietnamese traditional music and folk arts such as chèo (popular opera), tuồng (classic theater), quan họ (alternative music), and chầu văn (ritual music). Other activities held in Hanoi’s Old Quarter will introduce Vietnamese tea culture, the traditional art of embroidery, costumes used in hầu đồng (going-into-trance practice), the worship of mother goddesses, and royal costumes.
