(VOVworld) – A group of Dutch and Australian experts have failed to reach the site of the downed Malaysia Airlines’ flight MH 17 in eastern Ukraine due to clashes in the vicinity.

Earlier, Ukrainian military forces had conducted attacks and captured regions near the crash site. Andriy Lysenko, a spokesman for Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, said that government troops had seized Torez and Shakhtarsk, earlier controlled by gunmen from the East. The troops also gained control of Savur Mogila, 30 kilometers from the crash site.

The Russian Permanent Representative to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, blamed Ukraine for violating UN Security Council Resolution 2166, saying that Ukrainian military forces appeared to have targeted civilians instead of requesting all parties to minimize clashes.
