Created of rare woods, the model is 1/10 the size of the actual gate. All components can be detached and re-assembled for educational purposes.

The Mong Phu village gate was built in 1553 in the reign of King Le Than Tong. It was restored in 2008 as part of a Vietnam-Japan cooperative project.

Professor Akiyoshi has participated in research and restoration projects for several buildings in Hoi An town, Bac Ninh province, and Hanoi’s Duong Lam Village.

In 2004, he was awarded the Vietnamese Government’s culture medal.
