(VOVworld) – Luxembourg has taken over the Presidency of the European Council from Thursday.

Luxembourg takes over the Council presidency on 1 July.

During its tenure during the last half of the year, Luxembourg is expected to boost EU economic growth and its employment rate, and improve economic management of the Economic and Monetary Union, as well as focus on immigration and residency policies, a sensitive issue between the EU and the UK.
