(VOVworld)- A wide range of activities celebrating May Day are taking place nationwide. In Hanoi, the General Confederation of Labor organized a grand meeting to mark the event attracting more than 5,000 workers from Hanoi and neighboring cities and provinces. Nguyen Phuong Thao is a worker of Tue Dong Company: “I’m very interested in activities organized within the program because I learnt more about cuisines, health care and new technology.  We hope that such an event will be held annually”.

An exhibition displaying 75 outstanding products made by Vietnamese workers is being held at the event. In his opening speech, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Van Ngang said the exhibition honors Vietnamese products and talent of Vietnamese workers:“Organizing such an event, we hope to encourage workers to bring into play their creativity in production. Honoring Vietnamese products is in response to the campaign “Vietnamese people prioritize Vietnamese products”. It also aims to raise the prestige of Vietnamese products and expand the export market".

A meeting to honor outstanding Vietnamese products and services and Vietnamese workers will be held in Hanoi on May 1^st.

In Phu Yen province, more than 500 trade union members attended the launch ceremony of the Workers’ Month. Trade union organizations in Ha Tinh province accelerated the communications on legislation on workers and the role of trade unions, and organized patriotic emulation movements.
