(VOVworld) – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan commended the border district of Nam Nhun for its performance in social welfare and improving local people’s livelihoods.

During a working session with the district on Saturday, Ms. Ngan called on Nam Nhun to develop forests and ensure water sources security. She promised that her working team will ask relevant agencies to answer the district’s proposals on beneficial policies for forest planters.

The top legislator said the Party and State pay special attention to resettlement work, saying that Nam Nhun needs to take care of more than 3,000 people from 783 households who have been relocated due to the Son La hydro-power project.

On the same day, the National Assembly Chairwoman visited engineers and workers of the Lai Chau hydro power plant in Nam Nhun, where she planted a memorial tree.
