His statement came after the New Zealand’s Electoral Committee announced the general election’s preliminary results with the victory went to the National Party. The results showed that John Key’s party won 48.2% of the votes counted and will hold 62 positions in the total of 120 positions in the Parliament. Meanwhile, the opposition Labor Party gained only 24.52% of the votes and its alliance, the Green Party, got only 10.02%. Labor Party leader David Cunliffe admitted his failure and called Key to congratulate on his victory.
