(VOVworld) – US Secretary of State John Kerry had a new talk with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday in Germany, but no breakthrough emerged in efforts to halt the fighting in the devastated Syrian city of Aleppo.

The US State Department said Kerry will travel to Paris to attend Saturday’s conference on Syria with his French, Germany, and Qatari counterparts.
