PM hosts National Day banquet for diplomatic corps

(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and spouse hosted a banquet in Hanoi on Thursday for the diplomatic corps to mark the 69th anniversary anniversary od Vietnam’s National Day on September 2nd. PM Nguyen Tan Dung highlighted the determination and solidarity of the Vietnamese people in defending national independence and freedom within the past 69 years. He said the efforts contributed to promoting peace, friendship, and advancement in the region and the world. Although science, technology, trade, and investment are opening up many opportunities for the world, the complexities of international politics are a threat to peace and stability around the world: "We are well aware that our country’s development is closely connected to the peace, stability, and prosperity of the region and the world. Dialogue, cooperation, and mutual respect in conformity with international law and norms act as a foundation and are the most fundamental to maintaining peace, stability and development for all nations. Vietnam will spare no effort to contribute to security and mutual development in the region and the world."

PM Nguyen Tan Dung extended his gratitude to governments and people around the world and international friends and partners for their trust, valuable support and effective cooperation. He expressed his hope that representatives of nations and international organizations will be bridges to connect their countries and organizations to Vietnam.

On behalf of the guests, Venezuelan Ambassador Jorge Rondon Ucategui, acting head of the Diplomatic Corps, congratulated the Vietnamese for Vietnam’s achievements and expressed his belief that Vietnam will make further advances towards industrialization by 2020 and will participate even more in bilateral and multi-lateral forums.
