PM receives German Vice Chancellor

(VOVworld) – Vietnam always welcomes and creates favorable conditions for German businesses to invest in Vietnam. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the commitment at Friday reception for German Vice Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Sigmar Gabriel, who is in Vietnam to attend the 14th Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business in HCM City.

He expressed his hope that Germany will support an early approval of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement and signing of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the EU. Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel thanked the relevant Vietnamese agencies for their close cooperation with German partners in organizing the event. He said that Germany attaches much importance to fostering cooperation with Vietnam, especially in economics, trade, investment, culture, education and tourism. Gabriel said that Germany had expressed its concerns over recent developments in the East Sea, as it is an important maritime route, carrying more than 50% of global maritime transportation services. He added that stability in the East Sea is vital to the interests of Germany and Europe.
