(VOVworld) – Panamanian President Juan Carlos Varela and his Costa Rican counterpart Luis Guillermo Solis have agreed to enhance mechanisms for exchanging security information.

At a meeting on the sidelines of the 7^th Summit of the Association of Caribbean States in Havana, Cuba, Mr. Varela committed to technical support for Costa Rica to implement customers information systems to detect any suspicious packages on flights. The two leaders committed to increase the fight against drugs and illegal goods trading in border areas. They also agreed to maintain an open information channel with other regional countries to seek measures to deal with the migrant crisis.
