(VOVworld) – The Quang Ninh provincial Party Committee convened the 14^th Congress for the 2015-2020 term on Tuesday. Speaking at the event, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung asked the provincial Party Congress to study the situation and work on appropriate measures for the next tenure to promote local advantages.

National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong attended a Party Congress for Quang Nam province on Tuesday. She asked participants to carefully analyze the advantages and difficulties in the context of globalization in order to develop specific measures for sustainable growth. Ms. Phong said: “It’s necessary to continue mobilizing all resources for development as well as upgrade infrastructure to connect Quang Nam and other economic hubs in the central coast and Central Highlands. More effort should be made to push industrial zones and craft villages towards rapid and sustainable growth, particularly the Chu Lai economic zone. Quang Nam should be turned into a national tourism, trade, and financial center.”

President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan spoke at the Party Congress of Ben Tre province. “Ben Tre province must make drastic changes to develop small household production into cooperative models. Ben Tre and southern provinces produce 80% of the national coconut volume. If all 163,000 coconut growers in Ben Tre join together to form coconut growing and processing cooperatives, I believe the coconut industry will prosper. Ben Tre also has great potential for tourist development and the province should cooperate with neighboring provinces to fully tap into their advantages.”

Also on Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended the Nghe An provincial Party Congress.

Minister of Public Security, General Tran Dai Quang, chaired the Party Congress of Dac Lac province. Chief Judge of the People’s Supreme Court Truong Hoa Binh presided at Binh Thuan’s provincial Party Congress.
