Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong meets with Cuban Vice President of the Council of State Mercedes Lopez Acea in Hanoi

(VOVworld)- Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong met with Cuban Vice President of the Council of State Mercedes Lopez Acea, who is on a working visit to Vietnam yesterday. Mercedes Lopez Acea, who is also the Secretary of the Havana Committee of the Cuban Communist Party thanked Vietnam for its valuable support for Cuba and declared her country’s commitment to fostering the long-term solidarity and friendship between the two countries. General Secretary Trong said he believed that by updating its economic models Cuba would promote labour productivity and efficiency, thus helping its economy grow rapidly and sustainably. He also affirmed Vietnam’s support for Cuba and asked both sides to share experience and work harder to deepen their relations.
