(VOVworld) – At a reception in Hanoi on Wednesday for Lao Prime Minister Thoonglun Sisoulith, who is in Vietnam for the 39^th Intergovernmental Committee meeting, President Tran Dai Quang reiterated Vietnam’s unswerving policy of prioritizing the special solidarity with Laos.

 He said Vietnam wholeheartedly and strongly supports Laos’ reforms, construction, and defense. Applauding the results of the Intergovernmental Committee meeting, President Quang said the discussed directions will help ministries, sectors, and localities to implement the signed agreements. He expected that both sides will continue the exchange of visits and encourage direct bond between localities. The President urged for efforts to increase two-way trade and economic links, focus on key projects on energy and transport and an MoU between the two governments on developing power projects in Laos and power trade until 2030.
