President Truong Tan Sang visits Gia Lai province

(VOVworld)- President Truong Tan Sang has over the past two days visited Gia Lai province to inspect the local socio-economic development and security situation. The President laid a wreathe at the Monument to President Ho Chi Minh and the Central Highlands Ethnic Minority people in Solidarity Square in Pleiku city.

President Sang visited Kbang district, where all the communes are models of new rural development. The President praised local people’s achievements in new rural development: “It’s necessary to enable local people to have land for production. I would like to emphasize the importance of creating the best conditions for the locals and mobilize them not to sell but keep land to develop production”.

In Kbang district, the President visited the Temple of War Martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the attack at Ka Nac station in 1965 and the Memorial House of Hero Nup in Si To village, To Tung commune.

At a meeting with Gia Lai provincial authorities, President Sang stressed the need to focus on agricultural and forestry production. He asked the local authorities to mobilize all necessary resources and integrate support programs to improve people’s lives. He urged the province to pay more attention to human resource training and coordinate with the Party and State on policies for ethnic minority people. During his visit to Gia Lai province, President Truong Tan Sang visited Pastor Huynh Duy Linh, head of the Protestant Church in Gia Lai province and the Hoang Anh Gia Lai hospital.
