(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang has sent a letter to the people and soldiers nationwide to mark of the Vietnamese Day for Flood and Storm Prevention and Natural Calamity Mitigation. He said over the years, the global climate change and natural calamity had changed noticeably, seriously affecting people’s living conditions and the country’s development. Sang asked Party committees and authorities at all levels, organizations, armed forces, and all people to elevate awareness and responsibility for preventing floods and storms and reducing the chances of disasters. He called for better implementation of the Law on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and more efforts to integrate natural disaster prevention and control activities into socio-economic development plans at all levels.
