(VOVworld)- President Truong Tan Sang on Thursday met with 400 revolutionary soldiers who were once imprisoned by the enemy during the resistance wars.

In his address, President Sang praised the former prisoners for their great contribution to the national revolution: “During the national resistance wars, many soldiers and patriots were detained, tortured and imprisoned by the enemy. But, with their wisdom, the communists turned the prisons into revolutionary schools to sharpen their will to fight. Recalling the glorious history of our struggle is to praise the staunch spirit of Vietnamese patriots and revolutionary activists and their great contribution to the nation”.

The President called upon the ex-prisoners to bring into play their revolutionary spirit to further contribute to national development.
