Prime Minister receives Polish, UK ambassadors

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received UK ambassador Antony Stokes and Polish ambassador Barbara Szymanowska in Hanoi on Wednesday.

He told the outgoing UK ambassador that Vietnam would try its best to deepen its relations and cooperation with the UK. He said he hoped that the UK would continue its ODA for Vietnam in climate change response and support Vietnam in signing a free trade agreement with the EU. He thanked the UK, G7 members and the EU for opposing China’s illegal placement of an oilrig in Vietnamese waters.

During talks with the new Polish ambassador, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said he hoped the Polish embassy would cooperate with relevant Vietnamese agencies to foster the two countries’ multifaceted cooperation. He urged continued cooperation at regional and international forums and in economics, investment, trade, culture, education and training. He also called for further Polish preferential loans to help Vietnam achieve its development targets.
