(VOVworld) – Local authorities of the Phu Dong commune, Gia Lam district in Hanoi on Monday received a certificate recognizing Phu Dong Temple as a special national relic. The Saint Giong Festival opened on the same day.

The 3-day festival features colorful activities embracing Vietnamese people’s determination to fight against invaders and their dream of peace for the nation and prosperity for the people. Folk games and songs will delight locals and tourists. This festival, dating back to the Ly dynasty (1010-1225), has become one of the most well-known in the Red River delta.
