He raised the issue on Thursday in response to reporters’ queries about Vietnam’s stance on Taiwan’s arrangement of visits for its senior officials to Ba Bình Island which belongs to Vietnam. He said: “Vietnam affirms its indisputable sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes. All activities by foreign countries in these regions without Vietnam’s permission are illegal. The visit of some Taiwanese officials to Ba Binh seriously violated Vietnams’ sovereignty over Truong Sa archipelago. Vietnam resolutely opposes and demands that Taiwan should not to repeat similar activities to help maintain peace and stability in the East Sea”.
