The People’s Daily newspaper ran an editorial on the need for Party members to comprehend revolutionary morality. The editorial called the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam a significant milestone in the country’s revolutionary course. Over the last 82 years of development, the Party has led the Vietnamese people to overcome numerous challenges. After the success of the August Revolution in 1945, the Vietnamese people crushed feudalism and colonialism to establish the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and begin an era of national independence under socialism. Resounding victories over foreign invaders, particularly the Dien Bien Phu victory in 1954 against the French and the great spring victory in 1975 against the Americans, united north and south Vietnam into the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The Party has successfully led the country through the renewal process of the last 26 years to enter a new period of development toward industrialization and modernization. It has laid a foundation for Vietnam to become an essentially industrial country by 2020.

The editorial says the Party Central Committee has resolute determination to prevent the deterioration of political thought, morality, and lifestyle of party members, cadres, or leaders at any level. It’s important to improve the leadership and fighting capacity of the Party, and bolster people’s trust in the Party.

The People’s Army Newspaper posted an editorial on building a strong and transparent Party. The newspaper said Vietnam is experiencing new opportunities and challenges, and the Party must improve its leadership and prestige. It is the task of the Party, its members, and the whole political system to build a stronger, more transparent Party. The interests of the Party are the interests of the people and the nation and the Party has striven to ensure satisfactory living conditions for all people.

Laos’ People’s newspaper on Friday ran an editorial on the founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The editorial highlighted the developement of the Communist Party of Vietnam and its leadership for national independence and reunification. The newspaper also praised the role of President Ho Chi Minh who founded the Indochinese Communist party and the Communist party of Vietnam and laid foundation for the traditional relations between Vietnam and Laos.

The paper says the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam was associated with turning points of Vietnam’s history from the 1945August Revolution to the 1975 Spring offensive to unify the nation. Since the renewal process was launched in 1986, Vietnamese people’s living standard has much improved and the country’s status has been reinforced in the international arena.
