The government aims for better performance next year

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has informed voters in Hai Phong about the outcomes of the recent National Assembly session, saying the government aims to perform better next year to get higher results. This year, the country has managed to gradually stabilize the macro economy, control inflation, and maintain an economic growth rate of nearly 6%, higher than that of many other countries in the region and the world. The Prime Minister said that Vietnam has done a great job to ensure people’s social welfare and security with the poverty rate dropped by 2%. “In addition to stabilizing macro economy, controlling inflation, removing difficulties, and maintaining about 6% growth rate, Vietnam is also determined to restructure the economy. The focus of the restructuring will be on public investment, state-owned enterprises and banking system. Voters’ concerns about unfocused and inefficient investment have been taken into account and will be resolved next year,” the government leader accelerated. He also affirmed that the government will take tough actions to deal with traffic jams and involve wider public in the fight against corruption.The same day, Mr. Dung attended the 3rd session of Hai Phong People’s Council and called for more supervisory activities for the implementation of major policies and programs.
