US, China boost new relationship model among world powers

(VOVworld) - US President Barack Obama met at the White House this week with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to discuss bilateral relations. Wang’s visit took place prior to Obama's upcoming visit to China, scheduled for November. Obama praised China’s constructive role in international affairs. He said his November visit to China will enable an in-depth exchange of views with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the establishment of a new relationship model between world powers like the US and China.

Wang seconded the US proposal that China and the US should work together to maximize cooperation and minimize differences. He said China is willing to cooperate with the US to build mutual trust, expand cooperation in various fields, and promote efforts for a new relationship between the two countries.

Earlier, Wang met with US Secretary of State John Kerry.
