(VOVworld) – US President Barack Obama left Washington on Tuesday to begin his week-long tour of four Asian countries: Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

This is President Obama’s fifth visit to Asia. High on his agenda will be security challenges facing the region and economic co-operation, especially measures to promote Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations.
Ahead of the visit, US Security officials said that Obama’s visit is to reaffirm US pledges with its allies in the region as well as US rebalance strategy towards Asia-Pacific that it announced 3 years ago.
