The commander of the US Seventh Fleet Vice-Admiral Joseph Aucoin said that during joint exercises in the seas south of Japan last week, the US helicopters delivered boxes of food and other provisions to a Japanese warship. He added it was the first time that the two allies shared supplies other than oil at sea and that it was a big step forward, showing that the two navies could cooperate more in future. The cooperative agreement was reached as the US and Japanese navies are trying to boost their time-honored relations.
