(VOVworld) – US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Saturday had a working session with representatives of ASEAN countries in Washington DC.

Pham Quang Vinh, Vietnamese Ambassador to the US, attended the session. Mr. Tillerson reaffirmed the US’ appreciation towards strategic partnerships with ASEAN, and promised to promote strategical and economic cooperation for peace, security, and prosperity in the region, and to respond to emerging challenges. He affirmed that the US will actively participate in regional forums of ASEAN and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
