(VOVworld) - Washington and Gulf countries would step up efforts to share intelligence and increase the number of joint military exercises, said US Secretary of State John Kerry Monday, following talks with foreign ministers of the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council in Doha on their concerns over the Iran nuclear deal. He told a press briefing that Washington has also agreed to speed up arms sales to Gulf countries. Kerry’s visit aims to ease its allies’ concerns over Iran’s nuclear deal.

During his visit, Kerry also met the emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and his Saudi Arabian counterpart Adel bin Ahmed al-Jubeir. Before leaving Qatar, Kery had trilateral talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister.
