USAID helps Vietnam enhance capacity for disaster response

(VOVworld) – The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development signed a memorandum of understanding for a training program on the Incident Command System on Thursday. Under this partnership, USAID will help the Vietnamese government improve its disaster management capacity.

Deputy Assistant Administrator of USAID Asia Bureau Jason Foley and Vietnamese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat sign a memorandum of understanding for a training program on the Incident Command System on January 29, 2015.  

At the meeting, Deputy Assistant Administrator of USAID Asia Bureau Jason Foley and Vietnamese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat discussed ways to enhance co-operation in climate-change adaptation, bird flu prevention and control, natural disaster management, biodiversity, and biotechnology.
