Vietnam, Laos sign defense cooperation plan
(VOVworld)- Vietnamese Defense Minister Ngo Xuan Lich and his visiting Lao counterpart Chansamone Channhalat signed a defense cooperation plan for 2017 during their talks in Da Nang on Monday.

Both sides hailed defence cooperation as one of the crucial pillars in bilateral ties and agreed to jointly hold celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation and the 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties. Minister Ngo Xuan Lich said:
“I believe that the Lao Defense Minister’s visit will be a success and contribute to the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries and armies.”
Both sides agreed to work together to successfully implement the 2017 cooperation plan and other agreements, improve the quality of military training and increase exchanges. The two officials witnessed the signing of an MOU between the Vietnam Institute for Defense Strategy and the Laos Military Science History Institute.
