Vietnam PM encourages Japanese businesses to invest in cooperation projects with Vietnam

(VOVworld) – On Thursday Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended a high-level Vietnam-Japan Economic Policy Dialogue on Vietnam’s integration and development.

Prime Minister Phuc hailed the two countries’ extensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and said Vietnam was determined to build a transparent government to serve the people and businesses, contributing to socio-economic development and national defense and security. He said: “Vietnam’s investment environment should be in the top 4 of ASEAN by 2017. To this end, Vietnam should focus on development indexes such as infrastructure, administrative procedures, and human resource development.All economic sectors should be treated equally and business should be considered the impetus for job generation, budget collection, and growth. Vietnam will drop all barriers to attract business investment. Licensing times will be shortened from 45 to 15 days to reduce costs for investors.”

Prime Minister Phuc encouraged Japanese businesses to invest in infrastructure development projects, high-end services, and the equitization of state-owned enterprises. He said Vietnam welcomed Japan opening up its market to Vietnamese fruits such as mangoes, litchies and dragon fruits as well as seafood, consumer and electronic products, and accessories. He added that the Vietnamese people were ready to receive high quality products and high technologies from Japan. Prime Minister Phuc said Vietnam was committed to creating a favorable and equal environment for foreign investors, including those from Japan.
