(VOVworld) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will pay a state visit to the Republic of Korea (RoK) from October 1-4 at the invitation of Korean President Park Geun-hye to deepen the strategic partnership. Since the two countries established their diplomatic ties 20 years ago and upgraded their ties to strategic cooperative partnership 5 years ago, the Vietnam-RoK relationship has gone from strength to strength. The two countries have maintained annual visit exchanges. The RoK is one of Vietnam’s top economic partners. The two countries signed a cultural cooperation agreement, a Memorandum of Understanding on culture, arts, sports and tourism cooperation, and many others on education and youth exchanges. Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong’s forthcoming visit will contribute to fostering the Vietnam-Korea Strategic Partnership with a focus on accelerating cooperation in economics.
