(VOVworld) – State President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung exchanged letters of congratulation with Russian leaders including President Vladimir Putin, Speaker of the Federation Council, Valentina Ivanova Matviyenko, and Speaker of the State Duma, Sergei Evgenevich Naryshkin, as both countries marked the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties on Friday, January 30th.

Leaders from both countries asserted that Vietnamese - Russian bilateral ties have stood the test of time and are valuable assets for both countries. The Vietnamese people always treasure and are grateful to Russian political, economic, and military support for Vietnam during its struggle for national independence and reunification in the past as well as construction and defense today.

In letters of congratulations to Vietnamese leaders, Russian leaders reiterated their readiness to cooperate with their Vietnamese partners in implementing their signed projects in economics, trade, investment, industry, energy, and military technologies.
