New leadership of Vietnam Women's Union

(VOVworld)- The 3-day 11^th National Women’s Congress has concluded with the adoption of several measures to mobilize all Vietnamese women to contribute to women’s advancement. Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women’s Union Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa said that during this 5-year term, the Union intends to mobilize women’s inner strength to expand the organization’s activities. "We aim to strengthen international cooperation by expanding external relations and strengthening friendship with women in other countries, especially neighboring countries and important partners of Vietnam’s external policies. We want to enhance bilateral and multilateral relations by participating in regional and international forums and women’s movements. We also aim to monitor the implementation of the Vietnamese government’s international commitments on gender equality and raise women’s awareness of the importance of external relations. We will encourage women living in border areas to join efforts to develop borders of peace and friendship and safeguard our sovereignty", said Ms Hoa.
