Vietnam hopes UN to uphold respect and compliance with int’nl law

(VOVworld) - Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, head of the Permanent Vietnamese mission to the United Nations, has said Vietnam hopes the UN will give prominence to respect and compliance with international law.

Ambassador Nga made the statement in an interview with Vietnamese press on the sidelines of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly. She said Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh in his speech at the UN high-level meeting to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Declaration on the right to development emphasized Vietnam’s message on the need to enhance multilateralism and the compliance with international law for peace, cooperation, and development.

Deputy PM Minh shared Vietnam’s experience in implementing the Millennium Development Goals affirming that Vietnam is fully committed to the 2030 Agenda and other development frameworks. He called on other countries to uphold their vanguard roles in supporting developing nations.
