Vietnam marks 110th birth anniversary of Party chief Le Duan

(VOVworld) - Party and State leaders gathered at a ceremony in Quang Tri Province on Friday to mark the birth of Party General Secretary Le Duan. Among the attendants were Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Tran Dai Quang, Permanent member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Dinh The Huynh, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, former leaders, and relatives of Mr. Le Duan. Delegates watched a special performance in praise of the Party leader and recalled his contributions to Vietnam’s revolutions.

Secretary of Quang Tri provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Hung said Party General Secretary Le Duan was a brilliant successor of President Ho Chi Minh, a standout leader, a steadfast communist, and an excellent theorist, who devoted his life to the Communist Party of Vietnam and the nation. Mr. Hung said: “In more than half a century working tirelessly for the glorious revolutions of the Party and the nation, Party General Secretary Le Duan left us an extremely precious legacy and a bright example of a communist. It is the boundless loyalty to the fatherland and the people, lifetime devotion to the fatherland and the people, radical revolutionary will, and ceaseless endeavor for communist ideals. It is the wisdom, organizational talent, scientific and creative methods, eagerness for learning, friendliness, staunchness, and belief in the bright future of the country and the nation despite harsh conditions and challenges.”

Before the ceremony, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong paid floral tribute to Party General Secretary Le Duan at his monument in Dong Ha city.
