(VOVworld) – Deputy speaker of Vietnam’s Foreign Ministry Tran Thi Bich Van on Tuesday said “Vietnam rejects wrongful allegations by Human Rights Watch. Vietnam’s signing of the UN Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment shows the country’s strong commitment to fight any form of torture and cruel treatment during investigations and court procedures in order to best ensure fundamental human rights. Van said that any act of torture or cruel treatment during investigations or court procedures would be strictly dealt with according to Vietnam’s law.
