Vietnam’s attendance of G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting

(VOVworld) – A joint statement stressing multilateral cooperation mechanism to deal with global challenges has been adopted at the end of the 2-day G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Bonn, Germany.

German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel said the G20 has played increasingly important role in the joint effort to resolve global issues such as climate change and water scarcity. During the two-day event, the participants discussed the Sustainable Development program until 2030, options to prevent conflicts, maintaining long-term peace and enhancing cooperation with Africa.

Assistant to Foreign Minister Vu Quang Minh said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh confirmed Vietnam’s diplomatic policy of openness, diversification, and multilateralization of external relations and active international integration. Mr. Minh also asked G20 countries to support developing countries in the implementation of sustainable development goals, especially in infrastructure, human resource development, technology transfer and response to climate change.
