(VOVworld) – A high-ranking Vietnamese delegation led by National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung arrived in Phnom Penh on Wednesday to pay tribute to the late President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and President of the Senate Chea Sim. The top Vietnamese legislator expressed his deep condolences over the death of Chea Sim, writing in the funeral book that Vietnam had lost a close and sincere friend who had made significant contributions to cementing and developing solidarity, friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries’ Parties, States and peoples. Earlier, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong, State President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan offered their heartfelt sympathies to Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, the CPP’s Central Committee, the Cambodian National Assembly, the Royal Government of Cambodia and the National Council of Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodia.
Later, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung was received by Cambodian National Assembly Chairman Samdech Heng Samri in Phnompenh.
