Hung Anh had the honor of meeting President Ho Chi Minh 3 times. He says these meetings encouraged him to fight and follow the example of President Ho Chi Minh. He began to collect newspaper articles about and photos of the President in 1963. In 1975 when Vietnam was reunified Hung Anh was assigned to work in Krong Pak district. His collection of documents and photos of President Ho Chi Minh has grown since then. Hung Anh sorted his collection into different periods of Ho Chi Minh’s life - his childhood, the time he spent abroad looking for a path to national liberation, and his leadership in the national resistance for independence. His house has become a destination for people who want to learn about the life and career of Ho Chi Minh. Le Thi Tinh, Hung Anh’s wife, said: “My husband is always eager to help anyone who wants to learn about President Ho Chi Minh. Young people come very often.”

Hung Anh has participated in talks with young people about President Ho Chi Minh. Truong Huy Minh, deputy head of the Party Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education of Dak Lak province, said: “Mr. Hung Anh knows the story behind every photo very well and explains them to others. Because he met President Ho Chi Minh, his stories about the President’s moral example are very persuasive.”

In 2006 when the Communist Party of Vietnam launched the movement to follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example, Hung Anh came up with the idea of making two frames that would contain hundreds of photos about Ho Chi Minh to help younger generations remember the President and learn more about Vietnam’s history. His idea was realized after 5 years of hard work. He said: “I gave these photo frames to the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education and the Party Committee of Vu Bon commune as references. My work is to encourage everyone to follow President Ho Chi Minh’s example.”

Hung Anh considers his collection his family’s most valuable posession. The collection is his joy and passion and reminds him, his family and the people around him to always remember what President Ho Chi Minh did for Vietnam and to follow his moral example.
