(VOVworld) – The 42^nd New Hanoi Newspaper Run was held in Hanoi on Sunday.

 

It was part of activities to mark the 70^th anniversary of the August Revolution, Vietnam’s National Day, the 61^st anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day, and 16 years of UNESCO’s recognition of Hanoi as a city for peace.

 

More than 1,300 athletes from Hanoi and nearby provinces, including 300 staff members of foreign embassies and international organizations, joined the event.  

 

Palestinian ambassador to Vietnam Saadi Salama said: “The weather in Hanoi is beautiful. It is a great honor for me and other foreigners in Hanoi to join this event. The run conveys a message to the world that Vietnamese people always aspire for peace.”

 

The run was also aimed at strengthening friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and other countries.
