(VOVworld)-Cooperatives are the fundamental model to secure the rights and interests of farmers, said the President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Nguyen Thien Nhan.

Mr. Nhan told a seminar on the role of farmers in agriculture restructuring in Hanoi on Friday that cooperatives have upgraded farmers’ status in business negotiations and provided more added-values to the agriculture production chain. Participants at the seminar also highlighted the Vietnam Farmers’ Association, which represents farmers in important policies such as land, water resources and job generation.
