26th Lan Song Xanh (Green Wave) Awards ceremony – a boom of GenZ artists

(VOVWORLD) - The 26th Lan Song Xanh (Green Wave) Awards ceremony, a prestigious event within the Vietnamese music industry, took place last week at the Hoa Binh Theater in Ho Chi Minh City, drawing significant interest from both music professionals and fans. Emerging talents from the Gen Z generation, including singers, musicians, and music producers, were recognized for their creativity and contributions to the evolution of Vietnamese music.

The Green Wave Awards is familiar to generations of Vietnamese. In its 26th edition this year, the Green Wave Awards recognizes outstanding musical productions and noteworthy talents that shaped Vietnamese music in 2023.

Vuong Quyen, Deputy Director of the People's Voice of Ho Chi Minh City, the body that oversees the Green Wave Awards, said: "The categories of the 2023 Green Wave Awards provide a comprehensive reflection of the dynamic, interconnected, and culturally rich Vietnamese music landscape. They serve as a testament to the unwavering dedication, hard work, and passion exhibited by musicians, singers, music producers, and emerging talents within the Vietnamese music scene over the past year. The achievements celebrated at the awards highlight the collective efforts of artists who, despite facing challenges, spent a year creating, striving, and overcoming obstacles. It underscores the resilience of the artistic community, demonstrating that no matter the challenges, artists persist in their exploration and boundless creativity, continuously contributing to the beauty and new values of Vietnamese music."

Singers Van Mai Huong and Tang Duy Tan garnered several honors this year.

Tang Duy Tan won the Male Singer of the Year award, Top 10 Songs of the Year awards for “Turn on love” and “Cutting sadness in half”, and the Phenomenal Song of the Year award for “Cutting sadness in half”. Van Mai Huong won the Female Singer of the Year award, as well as Top 10 Songs of the Year, Song of the Year, and Collaboration of the Year awards for her song “Raining in June”.

Grey D and Trung Quan also won Top 10 Songs of the Year, Song of the Year, and Collaboration of the Year awards for “Raining in June”. Hoa Minzy, honored as the year’s Favorite Female Singer, also won Top 10 Songs of the Year awards for “Thi Mau” and “Turn on love”.

The song “Cooking for you” by rapper Den Vau won a Top 10 Songs of the Year award. This song has helped thousands of children following its release.

Den Vau said: "I’m very surprised. I believe all the other artists are also surprised to receive their awards. Thank you, audience, for listening and sharing to spread our songs. I wish all artists inspiration so we can continue to “cook” great songs for the audience. Thank you very much!"

The 26th Green Wave Awards also honored rapper Double2T, producer Masew, HIEUTHUHAI, Vũ Phụng Tiên, and producer Drum7.
