Government supports workers

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and representatives of ministries held dialogues recently with thousands of workers in the central and the southern region. Workers’ opinions have been passed on to functional agencies to help improve their lives and working conditions. The government has implemented incentive to encourage workers to contribute to the companies and the nation.

In a dialogue in Saturday, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and 300 workers from industrial zones in Dong Nai province talked about salaries, housing, supermarkets, awards, meals, and nursery schools. The workers asked for more policies to help people with disabilities work and study alongside other people.
Prime Minister Phuc said: “The government is working with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to raise workers’ salaries. I hope business leaders to pay attention to this issue to ensure workers’ basic living conditions.”
Nguyen Gia Thai from Ha Tinh province said: “Every worker wants a house or apartment of their own. We hope the Prime Minister and functional agencies will support workers so they can afford a house.”
Prime Minister Phuc replied: “I’ve instructed localities to rezone land for apartments for workers. The government and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will create appropriate tax policies and incentives.”
Prime Minister Phuc visited supermarkets, nursery schools, clinics, and boarding houses for workers. He said administrative agencies and sectors are working to improve workers’ living conditions so they will be more committed to their work.
