Localities ready for new school year’s opening ceremony

(VOVWORLD) - A new school year in Vietnam will begin next Tuesday, September 5th. Localities nationwide have thoroughly prepared classrooms and other facilities to welcome back students.

Can Tho city has repaired and upgraded 120 schools, focusing on providing facilities for smart educational models and smart classrooms where pupils can experience virtual reality and interaction. Lessons will be recorded and stored online to enable students to review the lessons whenever and wherever they want, while parents can follow their children's learning progress.

Can Tho city’s Department of Education and Training has organized training courses, and has strengthened IT application in management, reformed teaching and learning methods, promoted an interdisciplinary education approach and application of STEM.  

Bui Nhu Y, a teacher of Ngo Quyen Primary School, Ninh Kieu district, said: “Other teachers and I attended training courses in the summer to prepare for the new school year. Last year, we began teaching STEM and will continue this year to enhance the pupils’ practical experience.”

Yen Bai province has more than 440 preschools and general schools with over 230,000 pupils. Before the new school year, nearly 150 new classrooms and more than 100 subject rooms have been prepared.

In Mu Cang Chai district, which has been severely affected by flooding, the provincial Department of Education and Training has sent a working group to direct activities to overcome the consequences and help schools prepare for the new school year.

Dao Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Yen Bai provincial Department of Education and Training, said: “As of now, preparations for the new school year and the opening ceremony have been basically finalized. Ho Bon Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities and Xeo Di Ho School, which were heavily damaged by recent flooding in Mu Cang Chai district, will also organize the opening ceremony together with other schools in the province as scheduled.”

With the efforts of every teacher and the whole educational sector, and support from the authorities and other sectors, schools nationwide are ready for a new school year.
