Established in 1996, My Khanh tourism village has been hailed as the most attractive and typical tourism site in the Mekong Delta region. It welcomes thousands of visitors every year and contributes significantly to Can Tho city’s revenue from tourism and services. In the first half of the year, tourism sites in Phong Dien district received more than 530,000 tourists, an increase of 56%.

Nguyen Ngoc He, Vice Chairman of Can Tho city’s People’s Committee, said: “I hope My Khanh tourism village will prosper and obtain an OCOP 5-star certificate. Sectors at all levels are asked to support My Khanh tourism village and other OCOP products with personnel training, technical assistance, product certification, trademarks, trade promotion, and marketing.”

While regularly refreshing their tourism products, My Khanh village and other tourism sites in Phong Dien district have enhanced marketing of OCOP products to tourists.

Nguyen Huu Hoang, Deputy Director of My Khanh tourism village, said: “We have organized many activities to entertain tourists, such as folk games and an experience called “being a landlord for a day.” We are proud to have our village recognized as the first 4-star OCOP tourism destination in the Mekong Delta. The honor encourages us to further improve and diversify our tourism products.”

At the ceremony to receive the 4-star OCOP certificate last week, My Khanh tourism village opened a trade fair to sell OCOP products and specialties of the western region and launched a program "Taste of the Homeland" to promote local cultural values, popular cuisine, and brands.
