President Ho Chi Minh is featured in international media for his great cause of national liberation. American historian Stanley Karnow wrote in the Times magazine that there was no fluctuation in President Ho Chi Minh’s belief, his will was unshakable. In 1998, the Times named President Ho Chi Minh one of 100 most influential people of the 20th century.

American historian William Duiker, who spent 30 years studying Ho Chi Minh, wrote a biography titled “Ho Chi Minh, A Life”. He said: "One of the deepest impressions I have of this life is he is a single mind, that is particular character of his leadership; that he was able to combine an intense drive for revolutionary change while at the same time symbolizing too many Vietnamese. He was the most important figure of international revolutionary campaigns."

A New York Times’ article on May 9, 1954, said President Ho Chi Minh was not just an idol of the Vietnamese. He made a deep impression on foreign officials and reporters. He was a legend rather than a man.

Pornpen Hantrakool, a former history teacher and researcher of Vietnamese history at Thailand’s Fine Art University, said: “President Ho Chi Minh was a Vietnamese intellectual and cultural figure. He used history, culture, and the public effectively. He will live forever in the hearts of Vietnamese people and foreign friends. He was a man of action. He devoted his life to the nation. Ho Chi Minh’s Thoughts on socialism were not for one country but for international socialism.”

On the 127th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh, his memory lives vividly in the minds of Vietnamese and foreign friends.
