(VOVWORLD) - Short trips are favored by many people in Hanoi as they will only have a few days off to welcome the New Year 2018. Surveys show an increasing demand for both domestic and foreign tours, with short trips in the greatest demand.
According to many travel agencies in Hanoi, a lot of people have planned trips for the 2018 New Year holiday. While “wellness tourism” is pretty trendy, tours to enjoy seasonal flowers are also popular.
"I’m not married yet and I would love to spend all my leisure time travelling. My friends and I will visit Phu Quoc island during the New Year holiday. We booked a tour 2 months ago. I think any trip will be an unforgettable experience for me.", said Pham Thu Trang of Hanoi’s Hai Ba Trung district.
For the upcoming New Year holiday, most people prefer a short trip within Vietnam. Along with the Flower Festival 2018 in Da Lat, Nha Trang, Mui Ne, Ho Chi Minh City, and Phu Quoc island are the favorite destinations of people in northern Vietnam hoping to escape the cold weather. Families with children are interested in the relaxing resorts.
Nearby tourist hot spots like Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia are getting competition from distant destinations like South Korea, Japan, and Europe with their attractive cultural events and holiday shopping.
"My company is working directly with a number of tourism companies in Germany and the Netherlands to organize tours for Vietnamese and introduce tours in Vietnam to their clients. Some of our friends have helped us advertise our tours to customers of their restaurants abroad.", said Ngo Quoc Vinh, Director of the F Travel Service and Event Company.
Travel service companies are offering their customers discount tours, arranging early bookings, and designing new promotional programs.
