The US-Vietnam Comprehensive Partnership is an overarching framework for advancing the bilateral relationship. It underscores the US’s longstanding commitment to the Indo-Pacific region and provides a favorable mechanism for cooperation. The US supports a strong, prosperous and independent Vietnam.

Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son said Vietnam values its relations with the US: "Vietnam considers the US one of its most important partners. We look forward to continuing to develop our Comprehensive Partnership with the US on the basis of mutual benefit and respecting each other's independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political institutions."

Searching for US servicemen missing in action in Indochina is one of the US’s top priorities in Vietnam. Every year, the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command conducts a major search in Vietnam, which engage US military and civilian personnel in investigating and excavating hundreds of cases to compile the most complete statistics.

Bilateral trade has grown steadily, reaching 123 billion USD last year.

Do Ngoc Hung, Trade Counselor and Head of the Vietnamese Trade Office in the US, said: "Vietnam's exports, particularly to the United States, face numerous difficulties and challenges this year. But with the economic and trade prospects of the two countries, we’re confident that two-way trade turnover will exceed 100 billion USD this year."

The Comprehensive Partnership between Vietnam and the United States is stronger than ever. The two countries are committed to further strengthening their partnership, seizing opportunities, and jointly addressing shared challenges.
