(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam’s renewal and China’s open-door reform topped the agenda of the 14th theoretical workshop between the Communist Parties of Vietnam and China in Ho Chi Minh city on Friday.

Vo Van Thuong, head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education, reviewed Vietnam’s 30-year renewal, from major policies to key targets. He said: “For decades of renewal in Vietnam and open-door reform in China, both countries have recorded significant, historical achievements. Currently, both countries are entering a new period of development amid rapid and strong changes in the world and the region. It’s necessary and helpful to learn practical lessons for the new period of development.”

Huang Kunming, head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, stressed the importance of lessons learned from experiences in fine-tuning the socialist market economy mechanism and implementing prosperous development in China.
