(VOVworld) – The 18th World Festival of Youth and Students opened in Quito, Ecuador, on Saturday with the theme “Youth Unite against Imperialism for World Peace, Solidarity and Social Transformation”.

More than 10,000 youth delegates are attending the festival from 107 countries. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ecuador’s president Rafael Correa called on youths to build socialism for solidarity and justice. He said the era of imperialism is over, adding that youths have a responsibility to change the order for a brighter future.
With 85 members, the Vietnamese delegation will participate in conferences and seminars on the role of youth in the new age and join cultural activities within the framework of the festival.
